In 2026, our anniversary year, the maritime programme captures the very essence of what has made our summer gatherings so special for the past forty years. It will give us the chance to share, exchange ideas and discover what each of us does best, most beautifully and most interestingly… whilst giving pride of place to the joy of sailing and exploration !

Challenges on the water

« Come on, it’s not about staying in to play, it’s about heading out to sea! » – That says it all, in true Douarnenez style.

Every day, challenges will allow us to compete in speed, beauty and elegance, side by side, in a flamboyant reunion. The challenges, organised by boat type, by ‘trade’ or speciality, and by size, from the smallest to the largest, will follow one another daily: ‘there’ll be plenty of excitement on the water, mate!

Every day in Douarnenez Bay

Skulling for racing and for class.

Beyond the speed trials, where strength, technique and endurance stand out, skulling is a multifaceted art… At the Costumed Skulling Race, only bad taste will be disqualified in this port, which is also the home of the Gras! More technical, a course combining slalom, reversing and forward manoeuvres and other compulsory manoevres will allow the virtuosos to show off their skills… whilst introductory sessions will allow novices to get started.

Introductory sessions every day

Competitions, every evening at 6pm

Manoeuvring in all its glory

Once again this year, manoeuvring will take centre stage, with competitions featuring compulsory manoeuvres, whether under sail or oars… We’ll be heaving to, tacking, dropping anchor or tacking within a restricted area, in front of the crowd at the Stade Nautique…

And since each class of boat has been designed for a specific purpose, with its own specific manoeuvres, tell us about THE iconic manoeuvre that will showcase the qualities of your boat and your crew – we’ll put it on the programme!

Every day on "le stade nautique"

Launch ceremonies with fanfare

An Off Center Skiff will be launched on the first day of the festivities on the quay by our friends, the Charpentiers de Grève. Their challenge: to finish it before the festivities draw to a close. They’ve set a date for the launch on the afternoon of 26 July, and we’re confident they’ll make it!

Trainees from the Skol Ar Mor marine carpentry school are working on the completion of a Whitehall, a New England rowing boat. This little gem will be launched on Saturday 25 July, in the afternoon, and christened straight away!

See you on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 July

The Crews’ Dinner

This year, the Douarnenez Maritime Festival celebrates its 40th anniversary. We’d like to celebrate this with those who, first and foremost, have always made it possible: you, the crews. A dinner will be held on the evening of Wednesday 22 July at the festival site… which won’t open to the public until the following day, and which we’ll have all to ourselves!

Don’t forget to plan to arrive on Wednesday so we can all celebrate together.

See you on Wednesday 22 July

We’re buying the sailors a round… in song!

Every evening, just as the summer breezes die down (yes, the weather’s going to be lovely – it’s decided!), all the sailors at the festival will be meeting up for drinks at the Accueil Équipages.

This year, these magical moments of sharing and socialising will kick off with a song: anyone who fancies a sing-along will get the drinks party started with some music. Let us know if you’re feeling up to a sing-along!

Every evening from 6.30 pm
